 !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!!

Gained 1 pound, absolutely gutted, followed plan etc but feel heavy, suppose by that I mean bloated,I'm so down about it but know I have to keep plodding on but it's so disheartening, especially when you hear people telling how they lost 2 pound this week and had pizza express plus chocolate! I wanna cry and think I just might, maybe that's the problem haven't cried in ages so could be cause of fluid retention  #:-S

Hope you all have loses this week girls and hopefully I'll report a loss next week!!  val3

LL sorry for delay - Here is an example of extra easy - a 7 day menu planner:-  http://www.slimmingworld.com/healthy-eating/non-vegetarian-menu.aspx

I never followed the old plan and don't agree with protein one day and carbs the next, I like spaghetti with my bolognese!

JBYAWN I feel for you!  could be water retention?  the worst thing that you can do is to not follow the plan this week so hang on in there.  It can work both ways as when you do have extra syns one week you could have a good loss when not expected.

Yorkster I buy my sausages from a local butcher as they are syn free in several flavours, he had his recipes for meatballs, sausages, burgers, spicy turkey sticks all varified by SW.  I also buy my extra extra extra lean minced beef from him too.  It costs more but much nicer than supermarket's.  I cook a couple of sausages and let them cool and then slice them and take them out with me with a boiled egg and carrot and cucumber sticks, all free!

I was all excited about my first weigh in this coming Tuesday and have been sticking to the WW plan all week and then Friday I started to feel like I had a bad head cold back again.  By Saturday I'm clearly showing signs of a sinus infection but being a bank holiday weekend my doctor wasn't open - I had similar about 3 weeks ago and it cleared itself so I decided to leave it and see what happened.  By this stage I'm clearing what can only be described as lumps of green rubber from my sinuses (sorry I know that's really euwwwww) which bizarelly actually made them feel better but should have warned me to ring the on call doctor for some anti-biotics.

Then around 8.30 last night my stomach went absolutely nuts on me - I won't be too graphic but will just say that I can't leave the bathroom for very long.  My temp spiked at 38.2 when I'm normally at 36.1 and I spent last night shivering so badly that anyone would have thought I had epilepsy but with sweat pouring off me.  I'm now coughing up gunk from my chest and my windpipe is burning like crazy.  I've run the doctor who based on my past history and just hearing me coughing on the phone is pretty convinced that I now have a secondary chest infection and my brother has just picked up some doxycycline from the pharmacy on prescription for me because I couldn't leave the house long enough to go and fetch it.

On the bright side all of this means that as of this morning I am down by 5lbs this week!!! I was already down by 3.5 lbs before my stomach started playing up so I'm putting that much down to WW and the rest is obviously due to illness and I'm expecting it to go lower over the next couple of days because I can't really eat much right now  :-&  I'm hoping that my stomach will calm down enough this afternoon that I can pop to the shop just round the corner and get some plain rice and crackers to make sure that I keep putting something in to my system to help me recover quicker.

JBYAWN view it as a temporary blip - stick with it and your body should eventually adjust and take it back off again.  If anyone else went up or down by 1lb in a week they wouldn't think anything of it as fluid retention or hormone fluctuations can cause that easily.  Damn just needing to pee or poop could have made the difference!  #:-S

Sorry you're feeling poorly Mifford. I hope the medication makes you feel better very very soon!

For me, so it begins...  I had a fabulous week on propoints, had half of my weeklies, swapped carbs for proteins as much as I possibly can and I've gained a pound. Gutted.

See what next week brings. JB I know exactly how you must be feeling! So cruel when you've been so strict.

Good luck everyone!!

Thanks everyone I was feeling so down after Thursday, especially when the diet gastapo start questioning what you're doing wrong and 'are you eating things you shouldn't?' argh!! I smile sweetly and don't even bother to try and explain anymore! People just don't believe you when your my size and you tell them you don't eat very much at all and that what you do eat is healthy, no processed crap, mucks etc, but would I believe someone that looked like me if I wasn't me?

For me, so it begins...  I had a fabulous week on propoints, had half of my weeklies, swapped carbs for proteins as much as I possibly can and I've gained a pound. Gutted.

Oh Yorkster can fully empaphise with you  flow10 I not going to say don't get down cos thats pointless, of course you feel down after doing so well all week! I know I did. What I will say is I felt down and in many ways sorry for myself, but I also thought that if I gave up I would feel even worse, at least this way we have some hope  [-o< So onwards and dwonwards!! One day our bodies will accept that what we want is to shed the weight not store it for a rainy day, got a feeling it may take a while though

Hope your feeling better Mifford, you must be burning off loads of cals running back and forth to the gilrs room  exc5

Hope you are all doing well and that we all see a weight loss this week  fingx

so the last couple of days I've not been able to eat anything but high carbs such as loads of white rice and crackers etc and I've probably been WAY over my points and started to re-gain weight.

Today I'm starting to feel a whole load better so have started to get back onto normal food and so far I have eaten all of 17 of my 34 points - and that's AFTER a curly wurly!  So in theory I need to find a meal that will use 17 points for dinner ... except I'm really not very hungry at all.  Funnily I actually fancy fruit at the moment but that's all zero points now so that's no use.  In fact I can see myself ending up eating less fruit and veg on WW because I'm so full trying to keep my points level up that I can't fit in the zero ones as well lol

Anyone got any good ideas???

2 pound down yay me, was so worried I was going to gain again, phew!! I feel like singing a 2 pound down song   7532

Have got a lovely creamed spinach recipe for anyone interested which works out at 6syns on SW but normally shared so just divide by how many serving it to

Spring onions chopped,        2 Garlic cloves   1/2 tsp chilli flakes       1/2 sml nutmeg grated     Large bag spinach leaves     quark   freshly grated parmesan (1oz)  One cal spray
Salt n pepper

Spray oil in frying pan add onions, garlic, chilli, salt n pepper fry for few mins until beginning to soften. Add spinach to the onion mix in pan, add a of dash water, wilt down spinach, when wited, add nutmeg, add tblsp quark and stir, then add parmesan and stir again.
I serve this with fish, salmon or cod as they are my favs at the moment, but I'm fickle!!

Hope everyone is still on track and doing well, really need to up my excercise, been a lazy what not of late but starting to feel better this week so must get derrier into gear!!

Jeannie x

Well done to all of you that are losing weight, it is such a fantastic feeling even to lose 1lb! We are all in the same boat.

So, I'm jumping on the band wagon as of Monday. I'm the heaviest I've been since I gave birth to my youngest 12 years ago. Since this thyroid business started I'm 2 stone heavier. 1 stone of that has gone on in the last 6 months! I don't know where I have gone wrong, but its getting me down now.

So, bring on Monday and I am hoping to join you in losing the weight sensibly and safely and getting myself back into a healthy diet with the ocaasional treat at weekends!

Love Kath xx

Jeannie well done on your weight loss - so glad you stuck to it and this week must feel fantastic   xxb!x

I'm feeling a lot better than I did but I still have that feeling like I'm breathing through dust and when I start coughing I just literally can't stop.  The biggest problem is that its mainly at night and I'm not getting any sleep so I'm knackered but my stomach has calmed down now and I'm back on track so I could be a lot worse and at least I'm heading in the right direction.

After missing my first weigh in on Tuesday I've been trying to be really good before this week's weigh in.  I've struggled to get up to my full points the last couple of days but been trying to stick to it and I even went to a bbq at my brother's tonight and instead of eating burgers in buns I had chicken keebabs, only one sausage and salad but no bread.  So feeling very self righteous my sister in law then gives me a slice of the stickiest and probably most fattening chocolate fudge style cake I've ever seen!!! I was good in taking the smallest slice she had and not actually finishing all of that and I know I'm ok to have it as I have my 49 extra points for the week and I've not used any of them until now but not knowing how many points were actually in it is making me nervous for Tuesday!! I'll be fine if I can stick to my points the rest of the weekend but my parents are here and I'm not sure what we are doing about dinner tomorrow evening and may well end up eating out and it could blow my whole hard work up until now!  If it was any other week it would be fine but with my first weigh in this Tuesday I want it to be a decent amount of loss over the two weeks so I'm hoping I can keep it under control.

Normally I'd just exercise it off but this week I can't do any while my chest is still dodgy.  Oh well - even if the weekend is a blow out at least I'm in it for the long run and can get back to it from Monday for the following week.
